| AAMS11 Malindi & Gedi Tour – Full Day
At 0800hrs depart from your hotel and drive approximately 190kms to Malindi with a visit to Gedi Ruins en route. The narrow lanes and fine Swahili architecture of Malindi's old town present a marked contrast to the modern hotel facades and curio shops. It is a bustling, typically African town with its Swahili quarter and busy market and beaches extending to the north and south. The fascinating ruins of the 'Lost City of Gedi' which the inhabitants inexplicably abandoned in the 17th or 18th centuries and lay undiscovered until the 20 th century.
On arrival at Malindi you visit a snake farm, Falconry and a Giriama village where you are entertained by traditional dancers. After this you board a glass bottom boat and cruise the Malindi Marine Park exploring the coral gardens.
After lunch at Scorpio Villas, take a short walk to Vasco Da Gama’s pillar. At 1530hrs your drive takes you past the old Malindi town as you make your way back to your hotel in Mombasa, arriving in the early evening. |
