AAKY40 4 Nights Wings Over Kenya

AAKY40 4 Night Wings over Kenya (ST55)

Day 1 Nairobi – Samburu (LD)

Morning flight from Nairobi to Samburu, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge.

The Reserve is within the lands of the colourful Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai, and harbours a number of wildlife species rarely found anywhere in any numbers. These include Grevy's zebra, the reticulated giraffe and the Beisa oryx found only north of the equator.

Overnight at Samburu Intrepids Camp.

Samburu Intrepids Club is a luxury-tented camp in the midst of the rugged and savagely beautiful semi arid desert of northern Kenya. Located on the banks of the Uaaso Nyiro River, the camp offers unique game viewing in its immediate surroundings.

Day 2 Samburu (BLD)

Enjoy a full day in the reserve.

Scenically and faunally dramatic, for most of the year Samburu is seared under the unsympathetic equatorial sun. But relief comes from the wide swathe of the Ewaso Ngiro River which rises some hundreds of kilometres to the west on the foothills of the Aberdares and which vanishes beyond Samburu in the recesses of the Lorian swamp.

Overnight at Samburu Intrepids Camp.

Day 3 Samburu – Masai Mara (BLD)

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi and lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant. In the early afternoon fly to the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Probably the most famous of the reserves, the Masai Mara boasts an astonishing amount of game. Gazelle, wildebeest and zebra graze in large numbers and where prey is found so are predators. Not only is this a great place in which to find game, but the wide greeny-gold savannahs spotted with thorn trees make it ideal for photography.

Overnight at Mara Intrepids Camp.

Sitting above a sweeping bend in the Talek River, at the confluence of the Masai Mara's four game-viewing areas, Mara Intrepids Club enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the world's best-known wilderness.

Day 4 Masai Mara (BLD)

Enjoy a full day in the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

The famous black-maned Mara lions are possibly the stars of the Mara show, but cheetah, elephant, kongoni, topi, Thompson's gazelle, waterbuck, hyena, and primates are all here too. As with the rest of Kenya, the birding is good.

Day 5 Masai Mara – Nairobi (BL)

After your morning game drive and breakfast, fly back to Nairobi arriving in the early evening.
