Far Hills Country Hotel is centrally situated in the heart of the Garden Route, close to all the highlights this area is renowned for. It combines charm and elegance in magnificent surroundings with spectacular views of the Outeniqua Mountains.

An amber light beckons from the night, the soothing sounds of insects welcome your arrival. Rich furnishing: plump cushions and deep comfortable seats await. Ambient light plays over rich textures, cool terra-cotta underfoot, drawing your eye to familiar comforts of home-from-home. You settle in a comfortable armchair to contemplate the days activities. The old oak stands sentinel on the wooden deck guarding the view beyond. The reasssuring crackle of fire in the grate and an expectant tick of the clock, a feeling of well being rests gentle on your shoulders, peace, comfort, a stunning location.

Each of the 54 bedrooms have emphasis on comfort: fabrics pleasing to the senses of touch and sight have been used such as chiffon, satin, brocade, percale and pure cotton, thick fluffy white towels are standard in all the rooms, large high-pressure shower heads are fitted in the spacious standalone showers in the deluxe rooms, and all rooms are fitted with climate control units. Every deluxe room has been individually decorated and aptly named such as the African suite or the Moroccan suite, with décor elements brought in to create the desired ambience which each suite represents. The deluxe rooms also have gas fireplaces which are lit in chilly winter evenings.

Beyond the reception area at the entrance to the hotel, guests will find an inviting lounge with a piano which is often used by jovial guests, a cosy fire-lit pub and a deck leading onto a large swimming pool beneath the mountain vistas. The full service restaurant serves hearty country cuisine, and the sushi / teppanyaki bar is reported to be as good as the sushi bars in New York. There is no wine list and guests are encouraged to select their favourite vintage from the wine room, which has an outstanding selection of wine to superbly complement any of the chefs' creations.

Oak Tree Cafe - One of the highlights of your visit will no doubt be a meal on the wooden deck. The old oak tree stands sentinel over you as you take in your surroundings, the cool water of the pool ripples with the light breeze, looking up and beyond the gardens and lakes, your eyes rest on the magnificent mountains of the Outeniqua Range in the distance. The menu is also designed to ensure you get the most from your stay - relax with a coffee anytime throughout the day; lunch or enjoy a delicious candlelit meal in the evening. The menu is made up from a clever combination of traditional and modern dishes with that special Far Hills twist.

Shiyokutsu (meaning Gourmet) - Sushi - A food style unique to Japan and is based on careful preparation of fresh raw meats and seafood.
Teppanyaki - made up of two words, Teppan meaning steel and Yaki meaning flat grill.

Settlers Restaurant - Settlers offers traditional, á la carte or buffet. Rack of lamb or roast vegetables. Fine Dining with a tantilising selection, perfectly prepared, superbly served, The choice is yours...

The Wine Room...Thick plum reds to delicate fruity whites; the palest pinot noir to deep golden dessert. The wine lover's emporium awaits.

Room Service Menu - This menu is filled with a variety of choices. Mini Bars are stocked with a selection of Wines, Spirits and Juices. Tea and Coffee making facilities are also available in your room.

The hotel's three climate-controlled conference venues are fitted with overhead projectors, screens, flipcharts, white boards and audiovisual equipment, accommodating conference groups of up to 140 delegates in cinema style. The banquet room has a maximum capacity of 220 ideal for cocktail parties, launches, weddings and special occasions.
