No. But email can be sent through the lodge office
6. What is the source of power at Shaba
and is it eco-friendly?
We’re on generator and put them off at 3.00 pm,
back on at 6pm and then off again at midnight till
6am, to reduce emissions and energy conservation
on fossil fuels
7. Are there telephones in the rooms at
Shaba?
No, we want you to totally relax and forget the
normal hustles and bustles of life in the city but
we have phones in the office that you can use for
a small fee.
8. Is it safe to land aircrafts on the Shaba
airstrip?
Yes, one can land on the airstrip anytime within
the stipulated hours and in respect of the council
by-laws.
9. Is it possible to do night game drives?
No its not possible as this is a game reserve run
by the local county council and is dedicated to
preserving and protecting the flora and fauna on
behalf of the local communities thus doing game
drives at night will be affecting the fragile ecosystem.
10. Do you have a disaster rapid response
unit close by, incase of fires or any natural calamities
at Shaba?
Yes, we have Kenya Wildlife Services and an army
unit on standby incase of anything that we cannot
handle.
11. Does Shaba have a standby ambulance
close by?
Either road or air, yes we’re always on standby
with AMREF
