At the turn of the century, Cecil John Rhodes' dream was to complete the Cape to Cairo railway line. The railway line reached Victoria Falls in 1904 and crossed the Zambezi the following year. The bridge was completed in 14 months and is located where the spray from the Falls can be seen.
The Victoria Falls Safari Express does two runs:
- View the Victoria Falls from a steam train and step back in time to this romantic era on an excursion from Livingstone Station. The Bridge Run takes clients across the bridge where it stop for an opportunity to film the majestic Falls. Sunset is a spectacular time to enjoy the Safari Express.
- Alternatively the steam train can take clients from Livingstone to Jafuta Siding just outside Victoria Falls for your parting excursion before being transferred to Victoria Falls for your outbound flight.
