Activities - Guests at Mount Anderson Ranch have a wide variety of activities to choose from, ranging from those that cater for the highly energetic; hiking and horse riding to the more sedate pastimes of trout fishing, clay pigeon shooting, going on a game drive or exploring the old gold mining village. For those who just want to relax, there is a diverse assortment of reading material available and you are encouraged to make yourself comfortable on the patio and just enjoy the view and the tranquil montane setting.

Rangers - Our rangers are employed for their knowledge of the African bush and the surrounding area and their ability to communicate with people. They are highly qualified, formally trained men who are thoroughly conversant with all aspects of ecology. Apart from conducting informative game drives, the ranger is the guests' host for the duration of their stay.

Vat - VAT is currently at 14% and included in the price of most goods, services and hotel accommodation. Foreign tourists qualify for a VAT refund on items purchased and taken out of the country upon departure. No VAT refund may be claimed on goods consumed or services rendered.

Tour Leader/Pilot/Driver/Guide Policy - Accommodation for a bona fide tour leader, pilot, driver or guide is offered in B grade accommodation. The reduced rate is solely for accommodation and meals. This rate does not include special activities available to full paying guests. However, we will make every effort to ensure that tour directors accompanying a party are included in all such activities.

Drinking Water - All water is guaranteed perfectly safe for drinking.

Tourism Levy - A mandatory tourism levy of R 5.70 (inclusive of 14% VAT) per person per night is included in the rate for accommodation.

Climate - The climate over most of southern Africa is temperate. However, because Mount Anderson Ranch is located at high altitude, temperatures tend to be cooler than in most other areas. The summers tend to be mild with heavy afternoon thunderstorms being commonplace and winters are generally cold with snow falling occasionally. Rainfall occurs mostly during the summer months (October - March).

Arrival and Departure Times - Check-in time is 12h00 and check-out time is 11h00. Any variations on these times must be advised prior to the guests' arrival at the camps and are at the sole discretion of the camp manager.

Catering Requirements - Please inform our reservations department upon reservation, of any special dietary requirements.

Swimming Pool - Mount Anderson Ranch does not have a swimming pool.

Power Supply - 220v A.C. current is available 24 hours per day.

Dress code is casual but a sweater may be required at anytime, whilst during the winter months (May to September) very warm clothes including a windbreaker (anorak) are essential.

What To Take:
- Comfortable walking shoes, sun hats, sunglasses, sunscreen.
- Cameras and binoculars.
- Summer: lightweight clothing but warm clothing for the evenings and game drives.
- Winter: light clothing for daytime, very warm insulated jackets for the evenings and game drives.
- Please note: we do request that gentlemen wear slacks to dinner.
