Mobile Safaris
Traditional Mobile

Our Traditional Mobile Camp (TMC) is a totally private and exclusive camp, accomodating up to 12 people, with large walk-in tents with dressing area, private en-suite bathroom (short drop toilet, bucket shower and wash stand). There is a separate dining/mess tent, and fully equipped and well-stocked bar. This camp reflects the style and luxury of our Serengeti Safari Camp.

This camp was designed for private groups or large families wanting a totally exclusive camp. It is also available on an outfitting basis for groups accompanied by their own cars and private guides.

This camp - open all year round - is always set up within reach of the Migration, along the same lines of our Serengeti Safari Camp, with prebooked campsites confirmed well in advance. If clients wish to have the camp moved to another location for their safari we are able to provide this at an additional cost. It can move to either the Ngorongoro Highlands, Manyara or Tarangire National Parks.

Location:
Dec to April - the camp can be found on the southern Serengeti plains, with access to the main wildebeest herds as they calve through mid Jan - mid Mar. TMC may be in either the Serengeti National Park, or the Ngorongoro Crater Area, as conditions dictate.

May to early July - TMC moves to the Moru area, central Serengeti or Western Corridor as the migration heads west & north. The migratory patterns can be unpredictable at this time but the wildebeest rut (May) and the crossings of Grumeti river (June / July) are spectacular if witnessed. Current National Park regulations do not allow for walking nor driving off main tracks in these areas.

Mid July to Nov - TMC moves to the northern Serengeti, close to either the Mara or Bologonja rivers. This is a quieter, more exclusive area. Great game viewing and access to Serengeti’s little visited Mara River, where crossings back & forth can be spectacular. Towards December, TMC starts heading south once again, arriving on the plains around mid Dec depending on rain.

How to Get There:
Both the Traditional and Wilderness Mobile Camp's location varies considerably throughout the year, but they are easily accessible through a network of daily scheduled flights, or by private charter. Please contact your tour operator for more details.
