Activities
Maramba River Lodge provides an ideal location from which to discover the many activities that Africa's 'adventure capital' has to offer.  At no extra cost, the campsite staff can organise any of the following activities, the only hard work you have is choosing!

Livingstone is Zambia's tourist capital and there is a huge variety of activities available. Bookings and pick-ups for every pursuit can be arranged at our Adventure Booking Office.
These include:

Canoeing
Bunji Jumping
Abseiling
Gorge Swinging
Boat Cruises
Fishing
River Boarding
Helicopter rides
Microlight flights
We also offer internet access and our curio shop is stocked with a variety of handmade local crafts and souvenirs.
HISTORICAL LIVINGSTONE
A Booklet entitled “The Historical Guide to Livingstone” is available in the Lodge shop. This is a good guide to historical buildings in Livingstone. The book guides you on a walk around the town centre and tells you the stories of each building.
MUSEUMS
Livingstone Museum - this is in the middle of town and is well worth a visit. As well as an anthropological section, there are exhibits on witchcraft and natural history. The comprehensive collection of David Livingstone’s memorabilia is a special feature of this museum.

Railway Museum – A must for railway buffs as it depicts the history of Zambian railways and the building of the Victoria Falls bridge.

Field Museum – This is at the Falls near the curio sellers and it stands on an archaeological site which provides evidence that people were living here 2.5 million years ago.

RESTAURANTS
Ocean Basket: Fish, fish and more fish from the sea. 217 Area.
Ngolide Lodge: Excellent Indian food. Opposite the Railway Station. Closed on Mondays.
Funky Munky: Pizzas and other light food. 217 Area
Rite Pub and Grill: Pub food including pizzas. Town Centre.
Hippo’s: Set menu each evening. 217 Area.
Chanters: A la carte menu. Off Lusaka Road , past New Fairmount Hotel.
Laughing Dragon: Chinese food. Behind the Museum, and to the right.
Zig Zag Café:
Daytime snacks; open Friday evenings. Behind Chhana’s before the railway crossing.

MOSI O TUNYA NATIONAL PARK
Most of the area around the Falls and along the Zambezi is in the Musi-O-Tunya National Park . You can expect too see some animals, especially elephants. It is advisable to take care when driving at night along the Falls road – animals are difficult to see at night.

A small fenced off area, known as the Game Park , is the home to the only rhinos in Zambia. Entrance to this area of the Park is US$10 per person.

Apart from the animals and birds to be seen (drives and walks can be arranged) there is an area called the Old Drift – this is where the white pioneers ferried their goods across the Zambezi before the building of the bridge.

There is also an old grave site for the pioneers.

VICTORIA FALLS
Entry to the Victoria Falls World Heritage Site is US$10 per person. The entrance is close to the border with Zimbabwe, past Sun International Hotel.

Guided tours are available. At least two hours should be allowed to explore all the paths enabling you to fully view his breath-taking natural wonder of the world.

At certain times, when the water is low, you are able to swim in a pool on the lip of the Falls, beyond Livingstone Island. This is an unforgettable and magical experience.

MUKUNI VILLAGE
This is the home of the Leya (Toka Leya) people and has been in existence since the eleventh century!

GWEMBE CROCODILE PARK
Not far from the lodge, Gwembe Safaris Crocodile Park is the home of a collection of Nile crocodiles and snakes.

MARAMBA MARKET
A bustling and colourful scene giving you a chance to interact with the local community.
