Walking Safari & Cape Town

Fly-In / Transfers / Self Drive Tour 11 Days / 10 Nights

Enjoy an incredible, up close and personal experience of the African bush on a four-day/three-night Walking Safari at Phinda Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal, bordering the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park – a World Heritage Site or Ngala Private Game Reserve in the world-famous Kruger Park. Guests are accommodated in four spacious tents with en suite facilities and wonderful staff ensure that every need is catered for. This is followed by a week in cosmopolitan Cape Town, where you can explore the many beautiful beaches, Table Mountain, Cape Point, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and the Winelands.

  • Exhilarating Walking Safari
  • Big Five African safari
  • Cape Town & Table Mountain
  • Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

Day 1 - 3 : NGALA / PHINDA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
You will be met by a CC Africa representative on arrival at Johannesburg International Airport and depart on a scheduled charter flight to either Ngala or Phinda Game Reserves.

Arrive at Ngala in the Timbavati Reserve bordering the Kruger National Park or at Phinda Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal to begin your safari experience of a lifetime.

Ngala consists of 14 780 hectares of exclusive game-rich land in the world-renowned Kruger National Park.  The spectacular Timbavati River runs west to east through this private concession.

Phinda in the Maputuland region of Kwa-Zulu Natal, features 15 000 hectares of game-rich land.   Phinda neigbours the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park – which is a world heritage site - to the east and is only 30 km due west of the fringed beaches of the Indian Ocean.

Four tents in a scenic bush setting offer true CC Africa five-star style.  These spacious en-suite tents feature comfortable beds, hot bucket showers and flush w.c.  A maximum of eight guests can be accommodated on this safari.

Four to five hour morning walks plus pre-sunset short walks and night game-drive combinations.  First aid kits are carried at all times.  Reasonable standards of fitness are a prerequisite but distances covered will depend on sightings.  Guests will be taught the basics of the art of tracking.  Tracking of dangerous animals is avoided, but watching a breeding herd of elephant from a distance, or tracking a rhino is possible.   The emphasis on this walking safari is on micro-systems, and time is spent observing spiders, ant lions, dung beetles and other small wonders of nature.   This close “deep ecology” experience also ensures diverse bird watching.

Three overnights on Phinda or Ngala Walking Safari in tented accommodation on a fully inclusive basis.

Day 4 - 10 : CAPE TOWN
After your final morning game activity depart by road transfer to the relevant airport for your connecting flight to Cape Town.  You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel. Your rental car is delivered and you have have seven days at leisure to explore the Cape Peninsula. The city is blessed with breathtaking natural beauty – the famed flat-topped Table Mountain, scenic mountain drives and picturesque seaside suburbs being just a few examples.  We can pre-book any guided tours that you may wish to take prior to your departure such as Cape Point, Table Mountain or Winelands.

Seven overnights at Acorn House (Value) / Radisson Waterfront Hotel (Luxury)  / Cape Grace (Deluxe) on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 11 :
Drive to Cape Town Airport to drop off your rental car, in time for your connecting flight.
