Meaning ‘Place of Gold’ in the Sotho language, Johannesburg (Jo’burg) is Southern Africa's economic powerhouse, and the place where it all happens. Jo’burg is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city, with lots of interesting sights, museums, shops, galleries and restaurants for intrepid travellers. Depending on your interests, you can either spend your time exploring the Apartheid Museum and other sites of historical interest or the Sterkfontein Caves at the Cradle of Humankind, or simply enjoy the numerous shops, galleries and restaurants catering for all requirements.

Option 1: History & Culture
Day 1 – 2 :
You will be met at Johannesburg International Airport by a CC Africa representative and transferred to the hotel/guesthouse of your choice. Depending on your flight arrival time, depart on a half-day tour of Johannesburg. The Apartheid Museum depicts a journey to understanding, freedom and equality. Constitution Hill is the new home of the Constitutional Court, the protector of the basic rights and freedoms of South Africans. Constitution Hill is also the site of Johannesburg’s notorious Old Fort Prison Complex. Many of South Africa’s leading political activists, including Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, were detained here.
One overnight at Melrose Arch (L) or The Saxon (D) on a bed and breakfast basis
Day 2 :
After breakfast, our representative will collect you for your return road transfer to Johannesburg International Airport. End of services.
Option 2: Heritage
Day 1 – 2 :
You will be met at Johannesburg International Airport by a CC Africa representative and transferred to the hotel/guesthouse of your choice. Depending on your flight arrival time, depart on a tour of Sterkfontein Caves. There are thirteen explored sites within the Cradle of Humankind area, with only Sterkfontein Caves and Wonder Caves open to the public. Amongst the most remarkable findings is the famous Mrs Ples and ‘Little Foot’, a 3.3 million-year old, almost complete, ape-man skeleton.
One overnight at Misty Hills (V), Toadbury Hall (L) or Mount Grace (D) on a bed and breakfast basis
Day 2 :
After breakfast, our representative will collect you for your return road transfer to Johannesburg International Airport. End of services.
Option 3: Shopping
Day 1 – 2 :
You will be met at Johannesburg International Airport by a CC Africa representative and transferred to the hotel/guesthouse of your choice. Depending on your flight arrival time, depart on a half-day shopping trip. Shop ‘til you drop’ in Johannesburg – there’s something for everyone and for every pocket. Purchase stunning handmade crafts and souvenirs from roadside vendors, browse in an atmospheric African curio market, wander through one of the many colourful flea markets, go for designer labels in upmarket, world-class shopping malls. There’s also great food for all palates and taste buds – indigenous food, French, Italian, German, Indian, Chinese, Thai cuisine. Likewise, there’s a remarkable variety of entertainment – intimate jazz clubs, traditional dancing, classical music concerts, comedy clubs, rock ’n roll, rap, Afro-rock, kwaito and some first-class restaurants, theatre and movie entertainment.
