Start your tour of central Namibia in beautiful Swakopmund and continue on to Windhoek. Pass through deserts and visit natural springs as you experience for yourself, the huge diversity and variety that is Namibia. Places of interest along your way include the dunes of Sossusvlei (the highest in the world) and the rugged Zaris Mountains.

SELF DRIVE ITINERARY - (Swakopmund to Windhoek)

DAY 1: Swakopmund

Today is at leisure in Swakopmund, Namibia’s premier coastal resort. Depending upon when you arrive, a representative from our Afro Ventures office in Swakopmund will meet you at the Strand Hotel to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you may have in respect of the places you will be visiting and on Namibia in general. Overnight at the Strand Hotel in a twin bedded room with en suite bathroom on a bed and breakfast basis.

DAY 2: Corona Guest Farm

This morning depart for Corona Guest Farm, which is a delightful family run guest farm situated at the foot of the Gamsberg pass. The distance is 210km and the driving time approximately three hours. Overnight at Corona Guest Farm in a twin bedded room with en suite facilities on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

DAY 3: Namib Rand Nature Reserve

Today you depart for Kulala Desert Lodge which is an ideal base from which to explore the oldest desert in the world - the Namib. Overnight at Kulala Desert Lodge in twin bedded "kulalas" (dwellings adapted to desert conditions) with en suite facilities on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

DAY 4: Namib Rand Nature Reserve

Today is at leisure to visit the magnificent dunes of Sossusvlei or to join one of the optional activities offered by Kulala Desert Lodge. Overnight at again at Kulala Desert Lodge in a twin bedded "kulala" with en suite facilities on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis (lodge activities are at additional cost).

DAY 5: Zebra River Lodge

Your drive from Kulala Desert Lodge to Zebra River Lodge is only 130km. Zebra River Lodge is set in the heart of the rugged Zaris Mountains and the surrounding scenery of spectacular canyons and natural springs is a dramatic contrast to the dune landscape of the Namib Desert. Overnight at Zebra River Lodge in a twin bedded room with en suite facilities on a full board basis.

DAY 6: Zebra River Lodge

Today is at leisure to enjoy the walking and hiking trails through canyons and up on the plateau. In addition, the area has a number of interesting geological features and varied fauna and flora. Overnight at Zebra River Lodge in a twin bedded room with en suite facilities on a full board basis.

DAY 7: End of Tour

Today you make your way back to Windhoek where you must return your rental car. The distance from Zebra River Lodge to Windhoek town centre is 290km which takes approximately four hours.
