Kubu Lodge is situated 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) from Chobe National Park on the banks of the Chobe River. On a shaded lawn that spreads beneath ebony, mahogany and gigantic wild fig trees to the river's edge are eleven comfortable wooden thatched chalets on stilts. The chalets have an en suite shower and w.c, and are equipped with a mosquito net, overhead fan, hair dryer and tea/coffee-making facilities. There is a cosy bar/restaurant, curio shop and swimming pool.
Lodge activities include birdwatching, nature trails through the property, fishing, boat cruises to the Zambezi/Chobe confluence where four countries meet, and game drives into Chobe National Park. A hide overlooking the waterhole provides guests with an opportunity to encounter the shy Chobe bushbuck and resident warthog. Kubu Lodge also has a campsite for those who wish to experience life under canvas.
