Self-Drive Tour 4 Days / 3 Nights
A short drive along a stunning coastal road from Cape Town brings you to the world’s best land-based whale-watching destination, in the vicinity of Hermanus. From its rocky cliffs, Southern Right Whales can be seen as close as five metres (16.4 feet). Your days are free to explore the area with its beautiful beaches and mountains and, if you are there in season, to revel in the sight of Southern Right Whales with their calves offshore. For the brave, an exciting optional extra is Great White Shark diving.

Day 1 - 3 : WHALE COAST
From Cape Town, drive to the hotel/guesthouse of your choice along the Western Cape Whale Route. Your days are free to explore the area and, if you are there in season, to revel in the sight of Southern Right whales with their calves offshore. The Southern Right Whales start arriving in Walker Bay from June and have usually left again by December. Peak whale season, when sightings are virtually guaranteed on a daily basis, is during September and October. Calving season is in August and September and the whale population peaks in Walker Bay during October.

Day 4 :
Drive to Cape Town International Airport to drop off your rental car, in time for your connecting flight, or continue with your self-drive itinerary.
