Day 1 - 4 : CAPE TOWN
You will be welcomed at Cape Town International Airport by a CC Africa representative and transferred to the hotel of your choice. Our representative will guide you through your golfing adventure, covering maps, suggested sightseeing and useful travel information. Your rental car will be delivered to your hotel on the second day.
You may want to try Clovelly Country Club, a popular layout and in year-round good condition. Visit the close-by Cape Point or the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Try Paarl Golf Club in the Winelands, a recently modernised 27-hole layout with magnificent trees and mountains. Round your day off with some wine or brandy tasting in the area.
Four overnights at Acorn House (V) / Radisson (L) / Steenberg (D) on a bed & breakfast basis
Day 5 & 6 : HERMANUS
It’s a short drive along the coastal road to the world’s best land-based whale watching destination in the vicinity of Hermanus. Spend your days enjoying the superb golfing, whale watching (seasonal) and wines from the most southerly vineyards of the Cape.
Try the unpretentious old favourite – Hermanus Golf Club. Close by is Arabella Golf Club – part of the Western Cape Hotel & Spa establishment. Meaning “beautiful land” and aptly named, this young course is one of Peter Matkovich’s finest creations.
Two overnights at Whale Rock Lodge (V), Auberge Burgundy (L) / The Western Cape Hotel & Spa (D) on a bed & breakfast basis
Day 7, 8 & 9 : GARDEN ROUTE
Continue along the scenic coastal route to the Garden Route hotel of your choice.
Try George Golf Club, an undulating, densely-wooded course and an established favourite with the local market. The course feels as if it has been carved out of a forest but the fairways are of generous width. Plettenberg Bay Country Club is an old favourite winding through magnificent indigenous forest in a private nature reserve. Should you be staying at Fancourt, South Africa’s premier golf resort, you will find quality courses to match. The Montagu and Outeniqua courses, both parklands layouts, are impressively sculpted and finished with rare attention to detail. For a real challenge, try the Links at Fancourt, host to the 2003 Presidents Cup.
Three overnights at Far Hills (V) / King George (L) / Fancourt (D) on a bed & breakfast basis.
Day 10 :
Drive to Port Elizabeth or Cape Town Airport to drop off your rental car, in time for your connecting flight.
V = Value; L = Luxury; D = Deluxe. End of services
You have the option to extend your tour with a safari add-on in the Eastern Cape staying at either Lalibela Game Reserve or Kwandwe Private Game Reserve.
